International Export Control Observer
The James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) launched the International Export Control Observer (IECO) in September 2005. The IECO replaced the NIS and Asian Export Control Observers and reports on weapons of mass destruction (WMD) export controls in six regions of the world.
The IECO is a monthly newsletter published by CNS in two languages-English and Russian-and covers six regions: the Newly Independent States (NIS), Asia, the Balkans, the Middle East, Africa, and South America.
In April 2007, CNS and the Korea Strategic Trade Institute (KOSTI) began a partnership to offer the Asian Export Control Observer and the International Export Control Observer in Korean. The Korean versions will be posted on the CNS and YesTrade websites, as they become available. Korean versions of a number of issues of the AECO are ready for viewing. More recently, CNS began a partnership with the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association to provide past issues of the Observer in Chinese.
