Why should nuclear weapon states share information about their arsenals? What type of information do they share and what are the benefits to doing so?
To answer these questions, Deputy Director of the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies Elena Sokova joined the Center for Strategic and International Studies’s Sharon Squassoni on the “Tracking Nuclear Weapons Programs” podcast.
Sokova discusses US–Russian information exchanges and weapons declarations as confidence-building measures and the status of reporting initiatives under the NPT review process.
The Tracking Nuclear Weapons Programs is part of the CSIS Proliferation Prevention Program’s iTunes University course, and is available to download for free on iTunes or SoundCloud.
