Interview on Russian Issues with CNS Expert, Bryan Lee
During the bulk of the 20th century, the Soviet Union was one of the world’s two super powers. In the wake of the collapse of the Soviet Union, newly independent Russia was left in a weak state. In the two decades since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia has reasserted itself as one of the world’s powers.
On January 29, 2014 Eurasia Nonproliferation Program Director Bryan Lee sat down with Mark D. Daer, host of the Your Town television program to discuss a number of topics relevant to Russia.
During discussions Baer touched on:
- the threat posed by terrorists to the Sochi Winter Olympics;
- US – Russian relations;
- Russia’s political structures;
- Russia’s strategic relationship with the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria;
