Beyond Lab-to-Lab

Lab-to-Lab: US-Russian Lab-to-Lab Collaboration Story [Archived]

Milton Levenson | Cheryl Rofer

Contacts between the Soviet/Russian and U.S. scientists of course pre-date the lab-to-lab interactions of the 90s and 2000s by many decades. After World War II, international communication somewhat opened to the Soviet physicists at the first and second International Conferences on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy in Geneva in 1955 and 1958. In this section, we present individual memories and mementos of the people who were in the midst of these interactions. We include fist-hand accounts of well-known and not so well-known episodes to remind yet another time that science is an inherently international pursuit!
