Dear CNS Friends and Family:

It was wonderful to celebrate the Center’s 35th Anniversary with many of you in Washington, DC on October 21st. For those of you who were unable to join us, you may enjoy photos of the event.

I don’t need to remind you about the difficult proliferation challenges we face today, and I can’t say in truth that I am optimistic about the future, at least when it comes to WMD. The one continuing beacon of hope, which has sustained me over the past 35 years is the extraordinary energy and idealism of my students, some of whom no longer are quite so young. I have been blessed to have literally hundreds of such students from around the world, who have continued to work on issues of nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation after leaving Monterey.

If you have the means, please consider making an end-of-year contribution to CNS. It will assist the Center in continuing to fight the good fight to make the world a safer and more secure place.

My warm wishes to you for a joyous holiday season. Bill
