Speaker: Ferenc Dalnoki-Veress
Dr. Ferenc Dalnoki-Veress is Scientist-in-Residence (or Science-Interpreter-in-Residence) at CNS and holds an MSc and PhD in high energy physics from Carleton University, Canada, specializing in ultra-low radioactivity background detectors and has professional experience in the field of astroparticle physics, primarily neutrino physics. He has been involved in several major discoveries in the field of neutrino physics and has worked on several large international collaborations and has contributed to more than 40 referred and non-refereed publications. During his time in the ‘neutrino business’ he spent a lot of time in laboratories deep underground. He later joined Princeton University’s Department of Physics, then their Program on Science and Global Security and now he is fully above ground working at MIIS/CNS. He is one of many who are interested in taking nuclear weapons apart since he first learned about their existence. He will discuss Iran’s 5% enriched UF6 stockpile.
