This fall semester, CNS hosted six visiting fellows from Chile, Egypt, Indonesia, Mali, Pakistan, and South Africa, as well as a Fulbright researcher from Turkey. The group included specialists with diverse backgrounds, such as biology, academia, and diplomacy.
Nonproliferation Training
Throughout the entire semester, fellows participated in a rigorous nonproliferation training that included participation in a lecture series specifically tailored for the CNS Visiting Fellows Program, as well as selected MIIS courses such as the NPT Simulation course led by CNS Founding Director Dr. William Potter.
While at CNS, visiting fellows had the opportunity to travel to other California-based institutes to meet with and learn from additional experts, such as those at the Center for International Security and Cooperation (CISAC) at Stanford University and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
The fellows also conducted individual research projects under the mentorship and guidance from CNS senior experts. At the end of their training, they presented their research findings and received certificates of completion. Their outstanding presentations served as evidence of the dedicated efforts, on the part of both the fellows and their mentors.
